Childrensalon | PDP Redesign

Senior UI Designer

At Childrensalon, a global luxury childrenswear retailer, I work as a Senior UI Designer across a wide range of projects, from day-to-day optimisation to larger feature development. A key focus has been leading the UX and UI for the Product Display Page (PDP) redesign, including introducing larger, more immersive imagery, simplifying the size selection experience, and restructuring how supporting content is accessed.

I restructured the Product Display Page to make product information clearer and more accessible, with a particular focus on surfacing key decision-making details. Delivery and returns were given greater prominence through the use of colour coding and newly designed icons. I also incorporated a share icon to allow users to easily share products. As part of the wider brand refresh, I introduced the new serif typeface for titles and brand names and rolled out the updated iconography across the PDP. I improved the UX flow and UI treatment for product labels such as Sale, Coming Soon, and Personalised. I also redesigned any overlays and input fields on the PDP, such as drop downs, text inputs and colour selection, to be cleaner and more considered.

Measurement Tool UI

In order to improve product discovery, I developed a more considered approach to displaying recommended products on the PDP. This included turning ‘Recently Viewed’ into a carousel and introducing continuous browsing to ‘You Might Like’ on scroll, allowing users to keep exploring without hitting a hard stop at the end of the page. As users scroll, a discreet ‘Back to top’ button appears to support easy navigation. To further reduce friction, I designed a persistent panel that appears along the bottom of the viewport as users scroll, giving them constant access to size selection and the add-to-bag CTA.

To further declutter the PDP, outfits were moved to a dedicated page accessed via a toggle, rather than sitting at the bottom of the page. Alongside these structural changes, I refreshed the iconography in line with the wider brand update, incorporating secondary brand colours to subtly enhance clarity and visual interest.

Measurement Tool UI

I designed a new overlay system with clear toggles that allow customers to seamlessly switch between size selection, the size guide, and item measurements without losing context.

In parallel, I led the UX and UI design for a new Measurement Tool that is currently in development, aimed at reducing size uncertainty when purchasing. The tool allows users to input body measurements and receive a recommended size. I also introduced the option to create personas, ideal for customers shopping for multiple children. Each persona can store clothing and shoe sizes, making it easy for users to select who they are shopping for when adding items to bag.
